Advisable.com pulls $1.1M in funding for more skilled Irish freelancing

Company-aiding startup that connects employers to premium freelance marketing specialists, Advisable.com, has recently announced a successful funding round of $1.1 million led by Frontline Ventures alongside a group of angel investors made up of Breon Corcoran (former CEO, Paddy Power Betfair), Paddy Cosgrave (CEO, Web Summit), Anne Heraty (CEO, CPL Resources Plc.), and Oisin Hanrahan (CEO, Handy.com).

Advisable.com, founded by Irish duo Peter O’Malley and Galen Lowney, uses proprietary technology and processes to help companies find and hire top freelance marketing talent on-demand. So far, in less than 12 months since their founding, they’ve helped a wide range of companies hire top freelancers, from large multinationals like SAP and Avery Dennison to fast-growing startups like TravelPerk and Babbel. They already have independent workers in 53 countries on their platform.

According to a recent report by McKinsey, expenditure on high-level freelancers (freelancers earning > $75k/annum) in the US alone quadrupled from $122B in 2014 to $490B in 2017. However, the vast majority of these independent workers (85%) have never used a digital platform to find work.

Advisable aims to bring the full force of the premium freelance industry online - promoting accessibility, user experience and transparency to businesses in need of talent.

According to CEO and Co-Founder Peter O’Malley: “We’re building the tools to help companies find, hire and manage independent workers more efficiently while getting the world’s best freelance talent matched with jobs that utilize their skill sets more frequently. Companies that use freelancers tend to be more efficient and productive while workers who freelance tend to describe their work as more enjoyable, empowering and independent. The freelancer revolution benefits everyone involved and we want to accelerate it.”
