France’s Crème De La Crème freelance platform secures £2.5M for UK expansion

Crème de la crème, the European freelancer network, has recently acquired £2.5 million in funding for a United Kingdom expansion.

The company, founded in Paris, raised €3m (c.£2.64m) in a round led by French investment firm Alto Invest and a number of existing backers, including entrepreneurs Loic Le Meur and Alain Thibaut.

Jean-Charles Varlet, Chief Executive of crème de la crème, said: “The freelancers from our community are independent but rarely work alone. More and more of them would rather work in a team on more ambitious projects.

“​We think that the UK is filled with talented freelancers, yet managers still use their personal network in order to find freelancers.”

He added: “We’ve decided to help scale that process and use a unique product to gather all of their freelancers together.”
