Google has announced a $100,000 donation to aid those who work in the area of Springfield, Illinois, with job searching
Google is helping FutureWorks Career Center in Springfield with a $100,000 sponsorship. The money will help FutureWorks teach Google's Applied Digital Skills curriculum to job seekers.
Google will provide details about the donation and the job-seeker classes Monday at the MassMutual Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. when it hosts Grow with Google, an event with free workshops and trade show-style product demonstrations.
More info on Grow with Google is available at g.co/GrowSpringfield.
Job seekers will learn about Google's Google for Jobs platform that uses artificial intelligence to match people up with jobs and attract new workers, said Aisha Taylor, strategic partnerships and program lead at Google.
"It's really using our technology to do that matchmaking for both employers and job seekers," Taylor said.
The curriculum also includes up-to-date training in Google office applications like Docs, GMail and Sheets.
